Oh, I'm teribly sorry. I missed the important part in my initial post
which is that is is in regards to the network interface of Xine. I'm
using Xine to playback video in a media Jukebox
(http://gjukebox.sourceforge.net/) and when using other media (MP3 or
Ogg) I can figure out how long the streams are and where in them I'm
currently at to display playback. I'm a bit reluctant to start coding a
completely new frontend since this would first of all be much more work
and secondly given the flux that the Xine API is still in probably stop
working with every new Xine release. Currently I use the network
interface of Xine to accomplish this and it works great except there
would be nice to be able to see where in the stream you are and how long
time is left (I also think this makes good sense to have available
through the network, but that's just me).
