There is no rationale behind this merge, IMHO.
I have subscribed to <XFree86@XFree86.org> and traffic is too high.
I think I would have to unsubscribe soon, as most subjects on Xfree86 ML are 
not of any interests to me.
(unless decision to merge RENDER with XFRee86 would be changed back)
