Sathish,
Xerces-J contains parser code available in a xerces.jar.
There is also a sample jar (xercesSamples.jar) that contains a simple
application called SAX2Count. You can call SAX2Count with a flag (-v) to
have it validate while it counts elements in an xml instance. Like this:
java -classpath xerces_CLASSPATH sax.SAX2Count -v validatethis.xml
xerces_CLASSPATH should be replaced with the location of the two jar files I
mentioned above.
You can download the source code for SAX2Count from apache if you think that
will help figure out how to build a validator into your own application.
Try to be a bit patient with all this stuff and thankful that it is
available - it is all very new, complex, and under development. With a bit
of web searching, you can find many introductions to XML and parsers that
may help to fill in the gaps.
Good luck learning and you will probably find, as I have, that the people in
this email-list group are very helpful.
