I was wondering if someone could help me decipher the memory related output=
 of 'xl list'.

# xl list
Name ID Mem VCPUs State Time(s)
Domain-0 0 1024 8 r----- 50198.0
Hvm_01 23 1019 2 -b---- 38.5
Hvm_02 24 2043 2 -b---- 38.1

Domain-0 has a configured memory size of 1024 MB. Hvm_01 and Hvm_02 have co=
nfigured memory sizes of 1024 MB and 2048 MB respectively. The host compute=
r has 6+ GB of physical memory.

I am surprised why the values under 'Mem' for Hvm_01 and Hvm_02 are 5 MB le=
ss than their configured memory sizes. Is this somehow related to the memor=
y overhead needed by Xen to run these VMs?

I am running Xen 4.0.1 along with PVOPS Dom-0 (2.6.32 kernel).

Thanks.
-Anil
