Mike,

thanx for your reply, unfortunately there was no
/etc/udev/rules.d/30-net_persistent_names.rules file.
I found /etc/iftab file instead which contained

<snip>
# This file assigns persistent names to network interfaces.
# See iftab(5) for syntax.

eth0 mac 00:aa:aa:aa:aa:aa arp 1
<snip>

erasing that line fixed my problem.
