Subject:    no output whatsoever when runing with user privilegies

Version of xchat used:xchat-1.3.8
OS used is fbsd 3.2
When trying to use xchat I do not get any messages to xchat output
window.No usual server messages(with enabled MOTD,surely)no usual
channel chat,no private messages - nothing.This happens notoriously
while I am working with user privilegies.The whole appears bit strange
to me cause ~/.xchat/.xchat.cong is effictively the same as used by the
root save nicknames were changed.I will be thankful for any hints
,suggestions,advices.In case you need any additional information
to haunt the problem just give me a notice.

Does mailing list maintain any kind of archive so that I would not bother
you with already many times asked questions?
