I'm extremely busy right now, as I just started a new job, and I'm still 
trying to get everything in balance.

For the time being, the trunk of Xalan-C is pretty stable, and will build 
with Xerces-C 2.7, 2.8, and 3.0.  Hopefully, I'll have some time to get 
more of the patches into the repository before we release.  That can't 
happen until other committers review them.

Xerces-C 3.0 is on hold, because the new autoconf/automake scripts don't 
yet work on all our supported platforms with the full range of supported 
compilers.
