Hi all,

Just to let you know. I am following this discussion and I am considering to
add this feature to the upcoming 1.1 pre-release as soon as it is mature
enough.

Personally I think I will never use this feature since this makes your internal
package deployment depending on potentially unreliable external servers which
might change the download URL without further notice. Additionally this
introduces potential network problems like choosing the right proxy.

However the feature might be used to download files from intranet servers as
well where it could make some sense (but I would still prefer SMB/CIFS shares).

As I am also quite busy at the moment I appreciate this discussion and probably
somebody already figures out how to solve the proxy problem.
