I have followed João's suggestion and used a yellow highlight for bytes. Since
the byte below the mouse pointer will most likely be a field, I decided to
ignore the state here and unconditionally use blue on yellow.
Also experimented with drawing a box using drawRect, but this has the problem
that the borders will be overwritten by the next column and row. If the box is
preferred, then it could still be done though, but then the painting has to be
done after all rows are drawn.
