Thanks.  That's exactly what I wound up doing after Timo's message.

The recipient now complains that Acrobat cannot interpret the
resulting .pdf file, that it's apparently corrupt.

My guess at what she did was to use GPGOE as if for a normal prose
message and then "Save-As" the result for interpretation by Acrobat.
Could this be the source of the corruption?

I'm trying to get her to apply GPG directly to my mail using the
command window, but she had to be reminded how to do that and I
haven't heard back yet.
