Dear github support,

I am wondering how can github release messages being verified? For
example, see [1].

It's saying "Verified".

But the only thing that github verified is the git tag? Which covers the
git annotation message only?

The github release message written in github markup (created using
instructions from [2]) has not been verified by github and cannot be
verified by github?
