I'd really like to release 1.8.2 without having to do another
pre-release.  So the question is: is the Borland platform so
wide-spread that error-free compilation is important for 1.8.2?

As a comparison, I don't remember too many reports of 1.8.1 not being
compilable under the Borland compiler.
