For the last few versions (since wget-1.5-b4 or so), this is what
happens when I run make:
cd po && make CC='gcc' CPPFLAGS='' DEFS='-DHAVE_CONFIG_H \
-DSYSTEM_WGETRC=\"/usr/local/etc/wgetrc\" -DLOCALEDIR=\"/usr/local/share/locale\"' \
CFLAGS='-O2 -Wall -Wno-switch -Wno-implicit' LDFLAGS='' LIBS='-lintl -lsocket -lnsl' \
prefix='/usr/local' exec_prefix='/usr/local' bindir='/usr/local/bin' \
infodir='/usr/local/info' mandir='/usr/local/man' manext='1'
make: Fatal error in reader: Makefile, line 177: Macro assignment on dependency line
Current working directory /afs/nd.edu/user4/jpalmier/lib/wget-1.5-b7/po
*** Error code 1
make: Fatal error: Command failed for target `po'
This is on a sparc running Solaris 2.5.1; I ran ./configure with no
extra options. (Actually, first I ran ./configure and specified some
directories and had this problem, then ran 'make clean', then ran
./configure without any extra options, and still had the problem.)
I'm a beginner at these sorts of things, so I have no idea what's
going on. I'll append the makefile from the po subdirectory, in case
that's helpful.
