Hello All,
I am looking for a plugin for FiJi wing (ImageJ) to automatically measure
and classify several 10,000's of Honey Bee wings that the Devon Apicultural
Research Group are working on. http://dargbees.org.uk/

The aim is to classify "Black Bees" and their heritage by measuring
Discoidal shift an Cubital index.

There are only two programmes that provide data, neither are accurate; and
both are manual and laborious; this is an ideal international machine
learning opportunity with the possibility to create a world wide reference
dataset.

The plug-in should be able to scan inputted .jpg's or .tiff or png, using
the existing ImageJ plugins, convert to 8bit.tif and carry out several
simple measurements, and output to .ODF or .xls.

A brief explanation of the required measurements are here

http://www.drawwing.org/

The WEGA segmentation plugin ALMOST does everything but I cant get it to
measure the Cubital Index or Discoidal shift. It just needs an extra two
buttons on the button bar.

With Bee genetics being of worldwide importance, especially for NZ that
exports so many bees, this would enhance the use of FiJi and ImageJ and
could help compare bee genetics on an international scale with a standard
process and standard Machine based operation.

Any pointers or offers much appreciated.
