I would start at the Dell support page and have it scan to see if you have =
the appropriate Dell updates installed. There may be ones specific to your =
model of Dell laptop that are not installed.

Subject: [WEB4LIB] Telemedicine Visit - help needed
My esteemed listmates,
I'm trying to help do a telemedicine with a doctor on either of the followi=
ng 2 laptops.
On the Dell Latitude E6540 running W10, we can visit a Web site which tests=
your video and we can see ourselves on the laptop screen.
But, when we conduct that Windows - Audio test it can't find the built-in m=
icrophone on this laptop.
I've read a bunch of Googled results but they didn't correct this audio mal=
function.
On the other laptop - Dell latitude laptop running Windows 10 the audio mic=
test works and the audio registers and you can see the volume bars as you =
speak.
But, the video test does not display anything on the laptop screen and the=
error message is that it can't find the built in camera.
Again, I followed several Googled results but the video never worked.
I tried these 2 suggestions....
Method 1: Make sure the camera app is turned on by:
Press Windows key + I key (Win+ I) at the same time to open settings.
Click Privacy.
Click Camera in left pane. If it is off, turn it on.
Says Camera access is on.
Method 2 - Method 3: Check for outdated webcam driver:
Select the Start button, type Device Manager, and then select Device Manage=
r from the search results.
Find your webcam under Imaging devices or Sound, video and game controllers=
.
Press and hold (or right-click) the name of your webcam, and then select Pr=
operties.
Select the Driver tab, select the Driver Details button, and look for a fil=
e name that includes stream.sys. If it=92s there, your webcam was designed =
before Windows 7 and you'll have to replace it with a newer webcam.
If you don't find a file name that includes stream.sys, try rolling back yo=
ur webcam driver.
I get the message that all drivers are up to date. I Powered laptop off and=
on- no difference.
It has MS Defender AV installed.
If either audio or video has not worked on your laptop in W10, would you p=
lease be so kind as to share what corrected either?
Thank you so much.
Charles.
