Working Title: Research Facilitator
NC State University
NC State University invites applications and nominations for the position
of Research Facilitator. This position is part of a new university
initiative led by the NC State University Libraries, the Office of
Information Technology (OIT), and the Office of Research and Innovation
(ORI) to develop a robust Research Computing & Data Facilitation Service
(RCDFS) serving NC State's research enterprise. The RCDFS will provide a
single point of contact for researchers who need assistance identifying and
accessing research computing and data services and support, serve as a
communication conduit for service providers, and allow for continuous
assessment of researcher needs and available research computing and data
(RCD) services. This is a unique opportunity to become a part of a dynamic
team and advise on the design and implementation of the new RCDFS at NC
State. This position reports to the Director, Research Computing and Data
Facilitation Service.
Responsibilities:

Assist a broad set of researchers in leveraging computational and data
resources to accelerate their research efforts through support requests and
consultations.

Connect and coordinate interactions between researchers and technology
providers; translate complex and domain-specific information for
nonspecialists.

Provide regular communications to research computing and data service
providers; contribute to outreach and promotion efforts of the RCDFS.

In collaboration with RCDFS and campus IT staff, help build
documentation and training materials for basic use of RCD services for
researchers.

Participate in the collection and review of metrics to guide the
facilitation of users, and assess the effectiveness of RCD service and
support across the university.

Contribute to the identification, design, and delivery of novel
initiatives, technologies, and service solutions that address the evolving
needs of the university research community.

Manage and prioritize multiple projects, plan and implement project
specifications, report project status, identify delays, and raise concerns.
Review of applications is underway; position will remain open until a
suitable candidate is found. We will be flexible during this time and will
