Virtual VuFind Summit 2020 Announced
Leipzig, Germany and Villanova, Pennsylvania - May 26, 2020 - The organizer=
s of the Villanova VuFind Summit and the organizers of the International Vu=
Find Summit 2021 are very happy to announce that they are preparing a Virtu=
al VuFind Summit 2020 in a joint effort in order to have a fantastic commun=
ity event in early autumn this year despite the difficult circumstances we =
all are experiencing right now because of the COVID-19 pandemic. Due to the=
current restrictions in traveling and social distancing - not to mention t=
he health risks - it is impractical to have the regular Villanova VuFind Su=
mmit in Mid-October take place in person. The International VuFind Summit 2=
020 in Leipzig, scheduled for September 30 until October 2, was also postpo=
ned to 2021 for the same reason. As a result, the organizers see this as a =
chance to bring the international VuFind community together in one event wh=
ich will be held entirely online as a virtual conference.
The Virtual VuFind Summit will take place from September 29 until October 1=
, 2020 and will be open for workshops, lightning talks, project presentatio=
ns and other forms of participation.
A Call for Papers will be opened soon! To receive the latest information on=
