Head, Library Systems and Technology

Assumption College seeks a dynamic and innovative librarian to provide leadership and \
management for library systems and technology. S/he will work with library staff to \
strategically assess, select and implement established or emerging technologies that \
enhance the Library's ability to support teaching and research at the College. The \
incumbent is responsible for managing the Library's Voyager Integrated Library System \
(ILS), Windows and UNIX servers, and library applications such as ILLiad, Ariel, \
Serials Solutions products, Ariel, Deep Freeze and GoPrint. S/he will oversee \
development and maintenance of the Library website, and manage the hardware, \
software, and printing for networked public access and staff PCs in the Library. The \
incumbent will serve as the liaison between the IT department and the library and \
provide technical training and support to library staff. Additional responsibilities \
include serving as a member of the Library Director's Administrative Team and   \
liaison work with an academic department.

Candidates must hold an MLS from an ALA-accredited library school and have at least \
three years of experience working with an ILS, preferably Voyager. Must have strong \
oral, written, and presentation skills, and demonstrated commitment to excellent \
public service. Required skills include HTML, CSS, Microsoft Office Suite, \
Dreamweaver, knowledge of relational database concepts, basic UNIX skills, ability to \
write SQL queries, PC troubleshooting and maintenance (7/XP), basic networking \
skills, Windows Server 2003 or 2008 administration. Experience with ILLiad, Deep \
Freeze, Ariel, EZProxy, GoPrint, Voyager ILS, Oracle, and SQL Server 2005 is \
desirable. The successful candidate will possess a demonstrated ability to \
collaborate with other technology staff and with library staff to evaluate and \
implement new technologies. Occasional evening and weekend work will be required.

competitive and based on qualifications and experience. Starting salary range is \
