An unfortunate number of academic institutions still use NN4 as their
"official" browser--meaning, specifically, that campus tech support won't
answer questions about other browsers. From anecdotes I've heard, this
usually has more to do with campus-wide standardization on the NN4 e-mail
client than any preference for the browser.

Whatever the reason schools are so stuck on it, the OhioLINK browser
snapshot at <http://www.ohiolink.edu/~tdowling/browsers.cgi> routinely
shows NN4 running around 25% to 35% of total hits. It's a little lower
than that today, but could well be higher tomorrow; on one of our less
public servers it's currently 38%.
