Hi,

I've tried all combinations of these to GRUB at boot, but no difference :/

When I boot the hdd on a notebook dmesg says "using PIO mode 4, Ultra DMA mode 2"
But when it fails in voyage it says "using PIO mode 4, DMA mode 2" (then it \
downgrades). However, I've tested to use Ultra DMA with TinyBIOS when Alix2c2 boots, \
but without any success.

Any other ideas? Does anyone know if someone actually managed to add an IDE 2.5" HDD \
on an alix board?

Hi,

Try appending each of two kernel parameters at grub prompt to test:

1. all_generic_ide
2. ide=nodma

And report to the list which one work in your case. Thanks.

Punky
