Well your biggest barrier initially, I would guess, is connectivity.  VNC
does not provide any method for a peer-to-peer direct connection.  If both
systems have Internet access or some other TCP/IP-based connection
available then you should be able to proceed.  If your situation requires a
direct connection (that is, the home machine directly dialing the work
system) you may want to consider a product like Netopia's TimbuktuPro
(http://www.netopia.com/software/tb2/product_info.html) of course the price
is little higher.... :)
