Hi Steve H.,

Yes, I was expecting to see a see a checkmark along side the menu representing the \
current state.  However, I'm not particular about the type of indication; I just \
think that a software as fine as gVim should indicate the current state.

By indication, are you expecting to see a checkmark along side the
menu representing the current state? I don't believe the gVim menu
system provides this capability at the moment, although I would like
to see it myself. 

As a work around, you could modify the menu scripts to precede the
current item with a character (like nr2char(187) or " »") and then
remaining items with two spaces to maintain justification. I use this
technique for my buffer menu and it requires very little overhead.
