In general, typing

    :help

followed by the name of the command or option you are interested in,
followed by <Enter> works.  If you are not sure how a command or
option is spelled, you can type

    :help

followed by the first part of the command or option name, followed
by Ctrl-D to see a list of all matching topics.  You can also
execute

    :help index

and search for the word of interest.  In this particular case, just
execute

    :help autocmd

For more information on using help, just execute

    :help
