Hi,

I'm new to the list, so please forgive the newbie questions. I'm doing a
PhD in Computer Science, and have developed back & wrist problems from
spending too much time at a keyboard. I will be writing up my thesis
soon, and so I am looking into automatic dictation systems which might
make the task easier.

Being an avid Linux user, I was quite pleased to see that there is a
version of ViaVoice for Linux being developed, but sadly it doesn't seem
to be at a stage at which it is likely to be much use to me. Is that
right? Would it be worth my while installing it? Are there any
applications that make use of it?

Malcolm
