If the problem is in reading the private region, used by Volume Manager only, the bug \
would be in VxVM, not VxFS. HTH.

dd the entire drive before changing anything, fix if server is critical, and open a \
support case.

Cheers,

jf

I do not know how to intervene during the boot process in order to "move to the next \
lun/disk". However, the vxsplitlines utility is intended to enable the admin to \
eliminate inconsistencies between configdb copies on disk. If such inconsistency is \
the cause of a failed import, disabled volume, so no mount possible scenario, then \
run the following to make all disks' private region contents the same. Then the boot \
process wouldn't be problematical.

vxsplitlines -g Datadg

VxVM vxconfigdump ERROR V-5-1-624 Error (File block 255): Invalid magic number

VxVM vxconfigdump ERROR V-5-1-624 Error (File block 255): Invalid magic number

VxVM vxsplitlines NOTICE V-5-2-2708 There are 1 pools.

The Following are the disks in each pool. Each disk in the same pool

has config copies that are similar.

VxVM vxsplitlines INFO V-5-2-2707 Pool 0.

To see the configuration copy from this disk issue

/etc/vx/diag.d/vxprivutil dumpconfig /dev/vx/dmp/c4t10d0s2

To import the diskgroup with config copy from this

disk use the following command

/usr/sbin/vxdg -o selectcp=1123768481.41.sysA import Datadg

We had a corruped lun this weekend that prevented Solaris 10 from booting (even into \
single user mode), after mapping the lun in question to another hosts we were able to \
get the orginal system to boot. Does anyone know of a timeout/configuration setting \
setting that would make VxFS time out if a lun/disk configuration cannot be read and \
move on to the next lun/disk.

	Thanks,
