Hi ,

Have you tried the reconfiguration Reboot of the host. I donot know abot HP-UX \
command for reconfiguration.
  But in solaris touch /reconfigure
then reboot will do the purpose.

  Thanks
  Munish

vxinstall

The disk.info file was keeping inconsistent information so I had to
delete it.

Thanks to Shyam Hazari and Doug Hughes for their tips.

Subject: [Veritas-vx] Disk name does not match device file

Hi,

This is a newbie question so please bare with me.

Our setup:
- VxVM 4.1 on HP-UX 11i v2.
- HP XP12k disk array

We presented some LUNs to the system and created some test DGs to start
with.
This went fine and now we want to do the real setup.

We started by destroying the test DGs.
We unpresented the LUNs on the array and presented new ones.
The problem is that we still see the old disks on VEA and can't seem to
get rid of them.

Also, now the naming on some disks is not consistent with the actual
disk device files.
Example, disk c12t0d5 is actually pointing to /dev/rdsk/c12t3d4 making
it very hard for us to do the new configuration.

I would like to know how to sort this issue:
- Can I get rid of the old disk configs? How?
- Can I rename the disks to match the actual device files? How?
- Since I have no production data yet, can I scratch the whole Veritas
configuration and rediscover everything? How?

Many thanks,
Nuno
