I've seen it and all the releated documentation.

All the required parameters seems to be correct:

LVMVG ora00_VG (
                VolumeGroup = vg00
                MajorNumber @clora52a = 41
                MajorNumber @clora52b = 52
                ImportvgOpt = nL
                VaryonvgOpt = u
                )

The default value of the syncODM attribute is 1, and I haven't change it
... I think the ODM syncronization between cluster nodes is not working
as expected.

How i can troubleshoot it?

Thanks.

MC

Subject: [Veritas-ha] VCS with LVMDG on AIX

Hi all,

I have a VCS 4.0 on 2 * AIX system and LVM of AIX as disks management
software.

I create a Service Group for Oracle HA with:

- MultiNICA resource type (ora00_mnic)
- IPMultiNIC resource type (ora00_IP)
- LVMVG resource type (ora00_DG)
- ORACLE resource type (ora00_srv for instance and ora00_lsnr for
listener)

All the failover tests work fine, until i add a new disk in the LVM
volume group and I try to failover on the "secondary" cluster node it
fails with error:

2005/04/04 14:36:21 VCS WARNING V-16-10011-10005 (clora52b)
LVMVG:ora01_VG:online:Failed to varyon the volume group vg01

The only way to solve the problem is to offline the SG (hagrp -offline),
manually switch the Volume Group between nodes (importvg -L vg01
hdiskpower1; varyonvg vg01) and re-activate the SG (hagrp -online).

Does anybody know what could solve the problem?

I also tried to set the importvgopt=n (I try with nL options too) and
varyonvgopt=u but it didn't fix!!!

thanks.
