If you are using the built in Application Resource to control and monitor
your process the monitor script should exit with a 0 for success. 1 for
error.

The exit values of 100 thru 110 for monitor scripts is only if you create a
custom agent.

Hope that helps.

Todd

Subject: [Veritas-ha] Application agent monitoring problems

Hi Gurus:

I have a two-node cluster(Solaris 8, SUN 280R and 220R) running VCS 2.0
and Veritas database edition 3.0.
I also have an Oracle database as child service group(local firm).
Oracle and Sqlnet agents work fine. But my
application gets into trouble. I set up start, stop, and monitor
scripts. VCS can start, stop my app. But it
can't monitor it. If I manually run my monitor script, it works
fine(return 110 for online 100 for offline). I tried
alternatives like using MonitorProcesses and made sure my pid is exactly
as ps -ef shows(no argument
though). I just wonder why this monitoring information doesn't get thru
to VCS. So eventually my app will
fail after monitor timeout.

Your suggestions are greatly appreciated. It's urgent!!!

Charles Wang
