Paul,

switches don't care about ARP.
but clients and intermediate routers sure do.....

Michael,
After you switch, what does the clients arp cache show?

Our policy is Round Robin, but I doubt that that would be your problem.  It
is
most likely the issue with ARP.  Is it possible that when you fail over to
the
secondary that the gratuitous ARP does not get sent or gets ignored by the
switch?
