Some packages cp -a lib debian/package/usr/lib/package and this leaks
.svn directories into the deb. DH_ALWAYS_EXCLUDE can avoid this, but
is admittedly a hack. This can happen with git too, but is less
likely.
There are other reasons, but that's the best one IMHO. Although I
build all my packages from working copies.
