no... it's something completementary that helps make thin client systems much 
more plausable.. there will be announcements in January about it .. sorry i 
can't say more, but it is out of respect for those working on it =)

yes... sometimes "forks" aren't really forks at all in the way we usually 
think of them, but continuations of the project in the direction it once was 
and should have remained going in. they are often successful because of this, 
and are a way for the community to route around poor leadership and poor 
decision making.
