The umlknoppix requires to change some configure files.
# The easiest way to try umlknoppix is to use our KNOPPIX CD.

1) Is your machine installed "dnsmasq" and "dhcpd3"?

2) Please allow to use "sudo". It is requres to setup a private LAN for uml.
Run "visudo" and change a line as follows.
    knoppix ALL=NOPASSWD: ALL

3) Please allow to get X protocol from umlknoppix.

If you use KDE and KDM, please change the "/etc/kde3/kdm/Xservers" file.
>:0 local@tty1 /etc/X11/X -dpi 75 -nolisten tcp vt7
<:0 local@tty1 /etc/X11/X -dpi 75 vt7

Or please change "/etc/X11/xinit/xserverrc" file.
>exec /usr/bin/X11/X -dpi 100 -nolisten tcp
<exec /usr/bin/X11/X -dpi 100

4) Before "runuml", please run "/opt/umlknoppix/bin/umld" to setup a private LAN.
After the "umld" command, you find following message.

knoppix@box:/opt/umlknoppix/bin$ ./umld

5) Run "runuml" command. You will use KNOPPIX on uml.
