Hello all,

I am working on setting up a few UMLs to act as my firewall, internal,
and external servers. I have the UMLs up and running with a basic
Debian install on them, but now as I prepare to transfer many GB (40+
GB) over from the current servers I am wondering how to best deal with
the files/filesystems on the host/umls.

On the host, I have one 120GB hard disk partitioned into a 5GB /, 1 GB
swap, and 114GB free. Each UML will need about 40 GB, but may increase
eventually (so I think I want to use LVM). I think I also want to use a
journaling filesystem but I'm not sure which is best - putting
XFS/Reiser/ext3/JFS on the host side, or on the UMLs' side (or perhaps
both?)?

Also, since at least one of the servers will be open to the Internet, I
think I should use the jail option to UML, but does anyone know how much
of a performance hit that is?

hopefully this was enough info to convey my situation... i need sleep
now. ;) If you have any ideas on what I should do, or what you folks
have done in similar situations, I would greatly appreciate it.

Thanks,

~Peter W
