Yes, I was there and witnessed the whole thing. :-)

For the record, I was the one who initially invited Jeff when I learned
from David about his interest in inviting guest speakers/developers from
the Free Software world to the CSEE Graduate Series at WVU. David is
doing an amazing job at building up the Free Software mentality at the
University.

This talk was very interesting, and I feel privileged that I was one of
the first people in the world to hear it. I also got a sneak preview at
the thing(s) which will be in the next patch during Jeff's demonstration
to MorLUG (morlug.org). This was Jeff's first demonstration at a LUG, and
he did a great job. That very night I was on #morlug and an inspired user
did their first ever kernel compile "rite of passage" with kernel sources
and a uml patch.

Then this Wednesday UML got exposure at the WVU Technology Fair. People
were really happy to finally see GNU/Linux demonstrated at this Fair. Many
MorLUG members showed up on the fly. I quickly made MorLug's flyer with
three logos at the top, UML's, GNU.org's and Larry Ewing's penguin. You
have to understand that things had to be put together extremely quickly
for the Fair, and yet there were more than enough volunteers to spare. We
had played with the idea on #morlug, but thought we were too late. David
got frustrated when walking around the fair on Tuesday, and managed to
arrange to get a tiny table. The rest is history, and UML played a big
part in it.

And then there was the hike I arranged. I can tell you all about that,
too. :-)

Well, I'll tell you one thing, it was Shanti Katti's first hike in her
life. Shanti Katti is porting UML to SPARC and as you can imagine she was
delighted to be able to spend time with the "UML-man" himself!

Thanks Jeff and everyone who works for Freedom!
