Well, I sent that you as a fix from Andrew Morton; I did not investigate
because he is The Right Man and the SMP code (the one he fixed) was not used
from ages.

Actually, I'm noticing that it's just part of an update for 2.6.9, i.e. the
creation of fork_idle(). The patch, probably, does not even compile on
2.6.8.1, since fork_idle did not exist; this means that we are all
sleeping :-).

Also (as I already said, but in case you missed that) leave away "clean",
 I'll send much more thorough patches to merge.
