I'm lazy and use vmware instead. I need to do lots of testing of software, so use vmware to do things like run IMAP daemons without having to be careful about blocking access to them from outside my machine (vmware's automatic set up of bridged networking comes in very handy here), or worrying about messing up this machine too much when installing/deinstalling lots of different POP and IMAP stuff (I'm working on a mail client, so I need to test with many different servers.)
