I sent the patch to the syslogd list at sysklogd@infodrom.north.de about a week
ago but I haven't had any response.

The main site for syslogd is http://www.infodrom.ffis.de/projects/sysklogd/
or the mirror http://www.ibiblio.org/pub/Linux/system/daemons/

The package doesn't get updated frequently so it may be a while before this gets
into the mainstream code.
