Thanks Benjamin and Derek!
Indeed, setting the environment variable UNISONLOCALHOSTNAME
has solved the problem.
Just in case this could be useful to other Mac OS users. I used the
Property List Editor:
/Developer/Applications/Utilities/Property List Editor.app
add added the variable to
~/.MacOSX/environment.plist
It all works fine now!
