I use unison under windows and Linux.  I sync a large filesystem and
my experience is that the Linux version runs an order of magnitude
faster during the search/compare stage.  This happens over the same
link syncing the exact same filesystem, so I'm a bit puzzled.  What is
it about Windows that makes unison run so slow?  Can we fix this problem?
