Oli,

The only thing that I can think of that may be hindering your progress

is the service packs security and system file updates. There is a

good chance it may have impacted the way that Cygwin interacts with

Unison. How it could specifically do that I couldn't give you an

answer, I do know that many other programs that have authentication

procedures are "broken" by SP2. The setup I use this program in is

based on two WinXP machines; a WinXP Pro SP2 and a WinXP Home SP2.

I don't have any problems, however I do not use Cygwin. If given a

link to the program I can install on both of my machines and test

it out for you in my environment. If I can be of any help just let

me know.

Michael

>>Hi Michael,

Thanks for the quick response. Unfortunately I don't think that it is
the firewall. I should have been a bit more clear in my initial
e-mail, but I am using a corporate client firewall and virus scanner
on my system, so the first thing I did after installing SP2 was to
turn windows firewall and virus scanner off. It's also not the
corporate stuff since that worked for months now. Just to make sure I
had even checked all the logs to search for any blocked packages, but
nothing there.

Also checked to make sure that I can still ssh into my 2nd system and
that works like a charm.

Any more ideas?

Oli
