hello,

i'm running ulogd 1.02 on debian stable, it's configured to log to a
remote mysql DB.

today ulogd produced a 2,14 GB logfile in a few hours after the mysql
service got killed on the DB server.

the log looks like:

Mon Oct 27 06:00:34 2003 <7> ulogd_MYSQL.c:185 sql error during insert:
Lost connection to MySQL server during query
Mon Oct 27 06:00:34 2003 <7> ulogd_MYSQL.c:185 sql error during insert:
MySQL server has gone away
Mon Oct 27 06:00:34 2003 <7> ulogd_MYSQL.c:185 sql error during insert:
MySQL server has gone away
Mon Oct 27 06:00:34 2003 <7> ulogd_MYSQL.c:185 sql error during insert:
MySQL server has gone away
Mon Oct 27 06:00:34 2003 <7> ulogd_MYSQL.c:185 sql error during insert:
MySQL server has gone away
[..]

the msg above was logged ~250 times/sec, so maybe some kind of logging
threshold/limit would be a nice feature.

(for my firewall box it's been a nice smoke test, though ;)

best regards,
johannes resch
