The pcc_acpi module enables the use of most of those special keys like
sound level, screen brightness and so on on Panasonic notebooks. It can
be found here:

http://www.netlab.is.tsukuba.ac.jp/~yokota/izumi/panasonic_acpi/

More specifically, the pcc_acpi-0.8-hy20040929.tar.gz down the screen a
bit.

It builds cleanly as a module on Warty, and works just fine. The related
helper scripts found in the utils package need to be trimmed down a bit
(they handle things like ac events, which ubuntu already does, and
software suspend, which AFAIK is not built for Ubuntu).

Since at least the ability to change screen brightness is pretty
critical, I (and perhaps other Panasonic notebook users with me) would
be reasonably happy if this was made available in some way for Hoary.
