My understanding is that the result from this discussion is this commit:

I have no objection to that measure, but as someone who always have 
multiple installs in different partitions, I find that the information 
to users of new installs leaves a bit to be desired.

I see this message:

Maybe I'm stupid, but TBH — and even if I'm aware of the upstream change 
— I don't understand which documentation it talks about. If others agree 
that it's not crystal clear, maybe we could improve the message a little?
