I've just installed TWIG 2.8.1 on a FreeBSD 5.3 machine. I'm trying to
configure it for the "down & dirty" setup (without MySQL support) for
now. I'm trying to connect to a POP3 server instead of IMAP. I've set
the "imap_servertype" to "php_pop3" according to the FAQs and the other
settings accordingly. "auth" is set to "forms"; "auth_provider" to
"pop3"; "login_handler" to "cookie". I've set the browser on my
workstation to accept all cookies. I can send and receive mail through
POP3 on the machine where the server is located.

I've run the test.php and it shows the IMAP test working and the IMAP
connection test (where I fill in username and password) to be working.
However, when I go to the usual TWIG login screen
(www.mydomain.org/twig), and fill in my POP3 username and password, I
get the error message that the login failed because the username and/or
password were incorrect or misspelled.

The times on the server and workstation match or are within a minute or
two of each other. I've tried setting "auth" to "basic" but I still
cannot log in. I've even tried logging in as root but that doesn't work
either. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I may not be able to
answer e-mail for about a week because I'm working away from home during
the week (hence the desire to have TWIG functioning).
