I did as asked and there is a difference in the twig_schedule table info:

initial values in these fields after entering an item:

notime - NULL
recurtype - NULL

after clicking on "edit item" and then just clicking "update":

notime - 0
recurtype - 0

I checked in phpmyadmin. The NULL setting for each of the above fields is set 
to YES. and the default value is set to NULL.
