Hello tru64-unix-managers,

I have just installed tru64 unix v5 and am having some problems.

I am trying to compile the freeware product "monitor" which I can get
to compile, although some variables have changed. The only problem is
that every time I run it I get the error:
"/dev/kmem : No Such device or address"
I realise that this question has been asked before but the solution in
the archives doesn't work in this situation. In fact any access of
/dev/kmem results in the same error.
Is this a problem/enhancement of v5 or am I missing something that I
need to change.

Also you can have fun trying to setup DHCP. When using the sysman
setup utility you can select "Use DHCP" this automatically puts the
word "DYNAMIC" in the machines IP address field. Clicking on OK then
brings up the message:
"Error: The network address value "DYNAMIC" is invalid. Valid network
addresses and masks are dot-seperated... blah blah blah"
This isn't a problem for us just found it bizarre.

Thanks
