Hi Alpha OSF-Managers,

I got two answers (I think Pathworks for OSF1 isn't so much in use)
==============================================
1) From john@zyqad.co.uk Thu Sep 21 12:47:01 1995

As far as I know you can't use the standard UNIX passwd or NIS passwd for
PathWorks. PW seems to want to keep a separate set of passwords so users who
work both on the server directly and through a PC have to either keep both
passwords in-line or remember 2 different ones. A big pain in the ***. At
least that was my experience when we used PW. We have since ditched PW and just
use samba a public domain package that allows the mapping of server drives from
PCs but not vice versa. It can also handle printers but I haven't had to do
that. Samba uses the UNIX passwd file and I think works with NIS.

Personally I would suggest you ditch PW but you may have very good reasons to
want to keep PW.

2) From: I lost the address

Pathworks for Ultrix use NIS passwords

It seems there is no quick solution to my Problem. I'll try samba and perhaps make the
switch to it.

Thanks
Norbert
