On our group of alphas, I have the following link:

/etc/motd@ -> /usr/local/etc/motd

where /usr/local is nfs-mounted from one of the nodes to all the others.

At boot time, I always get the following message on all nodes where /usr/local
is NFS-mounted:

	override protection 644 for /etc/motd?

and when I answer yes, it creates a new /etc/motd, removing the link.

I'd like this systems to boot without asking this question. Can someone
explain what the system is looking for, and how to work around it? Thanks.
