Note: if no global ignores are set, Subversion automatically uses a
default ignore pattern, which is:
"*.o *.lo *.la *.al .libs *.so *.so.[0-9]* *.a *.pyc *.pyo"
"*.rej *~ #*# .#* .*.swp .DS_Store"
(from svn_config.h).
