I know, I didn't phrase that properly. I wanted to wait for some replies
before sending a "PS: ..." e-mail.

A GUI that accepts URLs or folders as drop target and extracts the
repository URL from this information would be the best solution of
course. The question is if you would provide a preview of the created
external and - more difficult - if you would want to parse an existing
external and fill in the GUI.
